David is Managing Director of AEGIS London.He Joined in 2000 as Head of Casualty from the Janson Green Syndicate and was appointed Chief Underwriting Officer in 2007. He has been instrumental in the diversification that has taken place within AEGIS London since 2007 and in developing many new and innovative products including AEGIS’s capabilities in Cyber in particular for the AEGIS membership.He is a member of various senior Lloyd’s Market Committees and has chaired the Marine and Energy Committee of Lloyd’s.He is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Steve Hearn

Steve Hearn has been group chief executive of BGC Insurance Group since January 2019. His tenure at the head of the insurance division of BGC commenced in January 2019 on the successful completion of the sale of the Ed Broking Group to BGC Partners. Prior to this he was group chief executive of the Ed Broking Group where he had been since November 2015. Previously, Steve served as deputy chief executive of Willis Group Holdings. He joined Willis in 2008 as a result of its acquisition of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH) and held a number of senior roles including chairman and chief executive of Willis Global, chief executive of Willis Re and chief executive of Willis Limited, the group’s principal UK regulated entity. He has served as chairman of both the London Market Group and the London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association and as a vice president of the Insurance Institute of London.

Ashley Prebble

Ashley Prebble is Head of Clifford Chance's Financial Institutions Group in London. He specialises in corporate and regulatory insurance, including IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, Part VII transfers, distribution agreements and regulatory matters. His clients include insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries in both the Lloyd's and London market and he is legal adviser to the LMG on Brexit.

Waleed Jabsheh

Waleed Jabsheh is an experienced underwriter and executive who is President of International General Insurance (IGI), a global specialist commercial insurer and reinsurer that underwrites a diverse portfolio of specialty lines. Jabsheh has been with IGI since its foundation in 2002. He has been instrumental in the development of IGI as well as helping to formulate and execute the company’s growth strategy. Based in London, he is responsible for jointly overseeing the group’s underwriting function and enhancing its global portfolio of business. His work includes developing the company’s geographic platforms and expanding business lines and underwriting teams. Jabsheh began his career at Manulife Reinsurance in Toronto, Canada and later joined LDG Reinsurance Corporation, a subsidiary of Houston Casualty Co., in 1998 where he served as senior underwriter, managing a $30m book of treaty and facultative business.

Jason Howard

Jason joined Acrisure Re (formerly Beach) in April 2016 as CEO, UK and International, and in January 2019 he was appointed Group CEO and is responsible for running the global business. Jason has over 30 years’ experience in the reinsurance industry, having worked for Willcox/Johnson & Higgins, and various divisions of the Willis Group.

He was made CEO of Willis Re International and Specialty in 2010. Jason headed up Glencairn in 2012 and oversaw the creation of Faber Global, the combined Willis Facultative and Glencairn, and made CEO following the amalgamation. In July 2014, Jason became CEO of Acappella Holdings

Matthew Fosh

Matthew Fosh began his career in the early 1980s, in the London stockmarket. From there he moved into the fixed income derivatives markets, ultimately establishing his own business, Seagray Fosh Ltd in 1988 on the London Financial Futures & Options market. During the 1990s, SGF grew to become one of the largest independent brokers on LIFFE, specialising in the equity and fixed income options markets. During the second half of the 1990s, SGF made the transition to full electronic trading, and was subsequently acquired in 2002 by Icap plc. In November 2002 Matthew moved across from the capital markets to the insurance industry, when he was appointed chief executive of Novae Group plc. He remained as chief executive for 15 years before it was acquired by Axis Capital of Bermuda in November 2017. Fosh remained at Axis for two further years before joining Optio Group in October 2020 as executive chairman.

Prior to founding his own practice, he had been a partner at two of the best known London insurance and commercial legal practices. He advises and supports insurance brokers, underwriting agents, MGAs, insurers and other service providers, and those looking to invest in the market including venture capital funds, business angels and (re)insurers. He also specialises in insurance governance and regulation.

Vanessa Macdonald-Smith is a leading insurance and reinsurance broker who has more than thirty years’ international experience and extensive long-term client and market relationships. She was latterly chief executive of JLT Facultative and her previous roles have included senior leadership positions at Willis Towers Watson and Benfield Corporate Risks (Aon Benfield).
