Richard Meade is the Editor of Lloyd’s List. He is an award-winning journalist and has been writing and talking about all aspects of the maritime industry and global trade for the past twenty years. As Editor he is responsible for navigating The List’s subscribers through the volatile politics, policy, deals and market movements that make up nearly 90% of global trade. He is also the host of the popular Lloyd’s List Shipping Podcast and a regular industry speaker and media commentator on all things shipping. He joined Lloyd’s List in 2006 as News Editor after jumping ship from the weekly maritime magazine Fairplay and prior to that started his career at the Financial Times.

Dr Grahaeme Henderson is responsible for Shell’s international shipping and maritime activities, including ships, barges, drilling units, floating production facilities and related operations. His work spans Shell’s entire business across upstream, downstream, projects and construction. Grahaeme’s global team also manages Shell’s oil tanker, LPG and LNG vessel portfolio. This includes 44 LNG ships, which make up some 11% of the world fleet, and some of the world’s most technically advanced LNG carriers. Grahaeme is strongly focused on safety and the environment, improving the efficiency of shipping and maritime operations, and driving technology and innovation, including Floating LNG. Grahaeme has been a member of the Shell Trading Executive Committee and a Director of Shell International Trading and Shipping Company since April 2011. He is active in a variety of shipping industry bodies: Chairman of Oil Companies International Marine Forum, Vice President of the UK Chamber of Shipping and Chairman of UK Shipping Defence Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Oceans. Grahaeme was previously Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum, Royal Dutch Shell’s upstream joint venture company in Brunei. His career with Shell has also included assignments in the UK, Nigeria, Syria and The Netherlands. He has a First Class Honours BSc Degree and a PhD in mathematics of sea waves, and is a Professional Chartered Engineer. He is married with a daughter and twin sons.

Nick Brown will take the helm as Lloyd’s Register's new chief executive from January 1, 2021, but as the class society’s Marine & Offshore Director since 2016 he has steered LR’s shipping division through an unprecedented technological transformation. Nick joined LR in 1996. He worked as a ship surveyor in Bahrain, Dubai, Finland and Germany and has extensive experience of ship repair and conversion projects. During 2005 Nick led LR’s global tanker business at a time when IACS’ Common Structural Rules (CSR) for Tankers were being finalised. Following the adoption of the CSRs in 2006, he moved to China, initially in a business development role as the shipbuilding market took off and new ship owners entered the industry. Subsequently, he was promoted to Area General Manager and Marine Manager for Greater China. In October 2013, after seven years leading LR’s activities in China, Nick was appointed Director for Business Development and Innovation - based at LR’s Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Southampton. In July 2014, with LR’s Marine business continuing to grow, he was appointed Marine Chief Operating Officer. In January 2016 he was appointed Marine & Offshore Director, responsible for LR’s entire marine and energy compliance businesses and on January 1, 2021
will succeed Alastair Marsh as group CEO.

Michael Parker was appointed chairman of Citigroup's shipping and logistics division in August 2019. Before that, he was the global industry head for the shipping, logistics and offshore industries at Citigroup, a position he had held since 1997. He is also Vice Chairman of Corporate & Investment Banking (EMEA) and Chairman Corporate Banking EMEA. During his 34 years involvement with shipping finance he has been a regular conference chairman, speaker or panellist. Under his leadership Citi receives recognised industry awards across the different areas of shipping finance and he was named Marine Money’s Dealmaker of the Year in 2012. In March 2015 in New York : Capital Link Leadership Award “in recognition of Michael Parker’s unique and extensive contribution to the shipping industry”. He chaired the London Committee of Intercargo for a number of years and is involved in UK maritime matters as they pertain to finance and served on the Expert Panel advising the UK Department for Transport on the UK 2050 Maritime Strategy. He has served on the Board of Advisors for London International Shipping in 2015, 2018 and 2019. In 2017 he was appointed to the Board of The Global Maritime Forum. He is Chairman of the drafting Committee of the Poseidon Principles launched in New York June 2019.

Mark O'Neil is the President and CEO of Columbia Shipmanagement. Previously an English Army Officer and then a maritime lawyer by profession, as a Partner with Stephenson Harwood LLP and Reed Smith LLP for 17 years, Mark headed up international law firm Reed Smith LLP's German Shipping Team, and also co-lead the firm's Offshore Department. His clients included Ship Owners, Charterers, Insurers, Management Companies, Banks, Oil Companies and Offshore Contractors worldwide with a particular focus on the German, Scandinavian, Greek, Dutch, South American and Cypriot markets. He therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the shipping, ship management, banking and offshore sectors. Mark chairs and/or speaks at numerous maritime and banking conferences and seminars worldwide. He is a passionate advocate of performance optimisation, digitalisation, crew training and the Human Element within the shipping and ship management industry and regularly speaks on these matters.

Angelica Kemene leads the Market Analysis & Intelligence department of Optima Shipping Services advising clients on all aspects of shipping and financial markets dynamics. Angelica also co- founded and manages Optima-X, a collaborative maritime innovation hub in Athens, hosting the Enso XL accelerator for start-ups related to maritime technology. Angelica has started the #5PillarsStrong initiative that aims to create an international cross-collaboration platform to achieve growth in sustainability and innovation in the commercial maritime space globally. Angelica holds 17 years of active experience in the shipping market. During her professional experience, she has been involved in analysing various traded commodity movements and their future performance related to the shipping industry at ICAP Plc, London. Before joining ICAP she worked for the Baltic Exchange Derivatives Trading in London, in the Market Surveillance team on FFA trades. She also gained experience as a Commercial Shipping Analyst with Trafigura mainly working on tanker performance analysis and post fixture. Following a degree in Shipping, she went on to earn an MSc in Mathematical Trading and Finance from CASS Business School in London and she enhanced her education with Python programming, Digital Marketing and Data Science certificates. She speaks Greek, English, French, Spanish and Italian.

Mr Roger Holm M.Sc. (Econ.) President Marine Power, Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Management of Wärtsilä Corporation

Mr Holm joined Wärtsilä in 1997 and has held several managerial and Vice President positions within the company both in Services and Marine Businesses, heading e.g. Business Development functions, Seals & Bearings Business and Engine business lines. In addition to those he was also the CIO of Wärtsilä Corporation in years 2006-2008.

In 2015 Mr Holm was appointed President of Marine Solutions heading the entire Marine new build Business globally.
